Scan-to-BIM services in Colorado
Scan-to-BIM turns a laser scanned point cloud into an as built Building Information Model, a Revit model that reflects what's actually built, not what was originally drawn. We are based in Colorado and deliver Scan-to-BIM across the state, from Denver and Golden to Boulder and every corner between, for renovation, addition, and MEP coordination projects where working from outdated or nonexistent drawings creates real risk. We will travel for the right project outside Colorado too.
Built by a Colorado engineering team
SpearPoint Scans is a family business founded in 2020 by Tyler and Landa Worley. Tyler is a civil engineer and Colorado School of Mines graduate, and the team has completed over 100 scanning and modeling projects across Colorado.
How the process works
- 1. Scan. We capture your site or building with a FARO laser scanner, producing a high density point cloud accurate to the millimeter.
- 2. Register. Individual scans are registered and cleaned up in FARO Scene, then brought into Autodesk ReCap to prepare a single, clean point cloud of the full space.
- 3. Model. The point cloud is modeled in Revit: walls, floors, structure, and MEP elements built to match the as built condition.
Deliverable formats
Models are delivered as native Revit (.rvt) files, with IFC export available for teams working in other BIM platforms. The underlying point cloud is included as well, so your team always has the source data to reference.
Who this is for
Architects and engineers working on renovations or additions, contractors coordinating MEP work in existing buildings, and facilities teams that need an accurate as built model to plan around. Scan-to-BIM replaces guesswork and field verification trips with a model you can trust.
